To be honest, that which is in the usual guide books is already stretching the imagination a bit. May will be already pretty hot as well so i guess camping is not likely. I would suggest saving some of the cash and heading to Dubai for some more hedonistic shopping and skiing (on real snow- its worth it!), Qatar is still under construction. Just coming for 10 days, sounds like I'll just stick with what is planned and see where that leads us. Will take on the Dubai idea, that sounds interesting, and thanks :) almost 7 years ago

Doha for 10 days in May will be .... interesting! Not sure what you are planning on seeing but there really isnt that much. As Mark said, its under construction and not as touristy as the UAE.

Have you checked www.timeoutdoha.com for possible things to do?

May is going to be hot and humid so walking around is probably not really an option to be honest. Doha is somewhere that I have been to once, transitted through a few times and that was probably enough for me. Whilst I am not keen either on the other extreme which Dubai, I think Abu Dhabi has a mix of both : slightly sleepy like Doha but with some brash elements like Dubai.

Will be interesting to get your feedback when you return. almost 7 years ago
