Single female flying from Melbourne to London, with a seven hour stopover in Doha. Just wondering if anyone has been to the airport, if it is worth paying to go in the Onyx lounge and any other advice!

You are most welcome to Qatar. I would be glad to show you the city and our hospitality.
7 hours is certainly not enough but you are welcome.

If you're Australian or British you can get a visa on arrival and go for a wander round the souqs, or at least do a little sightseeing. If you're all shopped out and not tempted by the sights of Doha or the US food chains then the Oryx lounge has snacks, drinks and wifi/internet facilities to while away the hours.

It's occasionally cheaper if you book in advance - email almahaservice@qatarairways.com.qa and request a booking form. almost 10 years ago

Go for the lounge. It's nice and a fairly quiet place to be.

Doha airport is not the most exciting and it can get really busy so if you do leave, just remember to factor that in for when you need to get back for your flight. over 9 years ago
