If you want the "tropical paradise" then think about Boracay or Panglao. I loved the Chocolate Hills too. Camiguin Island is also GREAT! over 5 years ago

Depends on what you want to see. If you like cultural heritage sites, then visit the Ilocos region. If you want to go hiking and caving, then go to Sagada. If you want to dive or beachbum, then try Cebu, Davao, Boracay or Palawan (Coron). You can also surf at La Union or Siargao over 5 years ago

Depends what you are interested in. If you want to go to a nice developed area on an incredible nice tropical island go to Boracay. Some people say it's overly touristic, however I had a great time and I personally don't like places where there isn't much going on. Also visited Panglao, which is much less developed (imagine about 1/50th the size of Boracay) but also a really nice tropical island. So be more specific about what kinds of things interest you, what you want to get out of your trip and you'll get better answers. over 5 years ago

I suggest you visit Bicol. It's where Mount Mayon, the perfectly cone-shaped volcano, is. I don't know if January's a good time to go to Donsol (also in Bicol), but it's where the Gentle Giant is. You know, the biggest animal in the world. Let me know what kind of places you are looking for, (planetapilipinas.com) :D The Philippines would be awesome!

If you will be staying with your friend, maybe you can ask him/her to tour you around their place. There are always something significant/historical/fun in every region. Enjoy the food, meeting people, and pictures! over 5 years ago
