Go to Divisoria Market nearby. It sells absolutely everything, from knockoff handbags, to fresh food and homewares. It gets very crowded, so be alert and hang onto your belongings. Here's more on what to expect: http://pinaywifespeaks.com/philippines/divisoria-manilas-bargain-shopping-mecca/

For a more unusual experience, visit Quiapo - near the church, there are a lot of stalls selling 'supernatural' things like idols, relics and potions. You will probably not buy anything, but it's interesting to see. You can also buy custom-made leather boots.

Binondo itself is Manila's Chinatown - it's a great place to see old-style buildings and sit down for an authentic Chinese meal. It's well worth spending time exploring the area, however most of the shopping is limited to Chinese food and jewellery. Hang around for an interesting cultural experience, all the same. over 6 years ago
