    Yes - it's like any other city when you're a tourist and not familiar. Stay in nice areas, get cabs from trusted locations (ie: hotels or 3555555, not just off the street) and study ahead on what you want to do don't go somewhere that doesn't look right. No different than anywhere else. I'm American and have worked down here for a couple years, only just recently becoming slightly acclimated with Spanish. The country has a lot of good things to see. Just plan ahead and don't try to do too much in one day...Peru takes a little longer than the U.S.! almost 4 years ago

    Yes, spent 2 months travelling from the north to the south with 3 children and had no issues. The people and culture are wonderful. almost 4 years ago
