We are traveling from Lima to Ica, then down to Puno for a few days and looking for the best way there. Bus/plane/train?

Well, there aren't any trains or planes from Ica, so it looks like you're looking at the bus! There are a few different companies operating on the route Lima-Ica-Nazca-Arequipa-Puno, but for me Cruz del Sur are the best. If I were you I'd consider stopping off in Arequipa - it's lovely and at 2,300m altitude it's a really good place to acclimatise before you get up to Puno (3,800m). over 3 years ago

The tourist bus from Ica to Puno is nice. We took the overnight and it went by quickly. If you are on a super budget, you can take the public bus too. There are 3 tiers of bus quality options. Any will get you there. over 3 years ago
