You take a short flight from Lima to Cuzco via LAN Airlines, TACA, Star Peru, etc. The price of the flight can range from $50-$150 depending on which day you fly and how far in advance you book. From Cuzco, you take a train (Peru Rail) to Aguas Caliente where you can catch a bus taking you to Macchu Picchu on the main street every 5-10 minutes (I don't remember how much this was probably a couple dollars). You basically have two options to get to Macchu Picchu: The Inca Trail or the train. about 4 years ago

Fly with lan safest bet as thaking a bus or taxi would be a little scary/unsafe...MAKE SURE you take altitude tabs for cuzco and mpicchu as you WILL get sick...think lima to cuzco was a 45-50 min flight so would be a day on a bus,at a guess!! about 4 years ago
