I will be in Uppsala, so if there is an option from there too, I am all ears.

Hey - there are several ways to go to Sognefjord from Stockholm, but all of them pretty much includes going to Oslo.

From Oslo you can go by rental car, train, bus,and air. It is about 350 kilometer from Oslo, so car and train would take about 3-4 hours.

By train, you would take "Bergensbanen" from Oslo to Myrdal. Switch over to another train - the "Flåmsbana" to Flåm. Go to www.nsb.no for more information on times and prices.

The bus option involves "Nor-Way" bus company and you will be looking for a trip to Lærdal. Www.nor-way.no

By air, you would use the Widerø airline and it is a 50 min flight from Gardemoen airport (direct connection by train from the central trainstation).

    I hope this helps!

Another possibility is to go by air from Stockholm to Bergen. Bergen is located approx 100km from Sognefjorden. Norwegian.no might have fairly low prices on your fare; especially if you stay away from Friday and Sunday afternoons. They also have a low price calendar from which you quickly can check out what flight times are cheapest. over 10 years ago
