I was with Vodafone in Australia, and I could definitely use my phone in Auckland airport when I passed through NZ last year. Vodafone is also one of the main companies in NZ. It was expensive, but I didn't talk to Vodafone to see if there was any special plan which would make it cheaper. I'd call them and ask, but it might be better to just get another sim card in NZ and put that in your phone. over 9 years ago

I was with Vodafone in Australia (the $29 flexi cap prepay to be exact) and I was assured time and time again that when i went to New Zealand it would still work. Well sure enough I arrived in New Zealand and my data worked, but I couldn't make or receive any calls (except to Vodafone) and I couldn't send or receive any texts, regardless of the fact that I had TONS of credit still on my phone. After two days of trying to deal with it, I gave up and went to the mall in Auckland and got myself a NZ sim card. It's not expensive to get a new sim -- regardless of the provider, and the prepaid plans are rather cheap. over 9 years ago
