I have heard that the Otago area is the best for Pinot Noir and I was wondering where I could do some tastings.

Does anyone have any recommended vineyards to see?

Yes, there are some great wineries down there. We drove from Wanaka to Queenstown and stopped at a few. My favorite was a little winery called Aurum which made a very nice Pino Gris as well as their own olive oil. I'm not a huge fan of Pinot Noir so can't comment on them! about 10 years ago

    • By the way - the wineries are quite well sign-posted on the highway so one only has to drive and follow the signs! Ian C about 10 years ago

Try some of the vineyards around Cromwell at Bannockburn and Lowburn. But for a great overview in one spot try The Big Picture just out of Cromwell. They will be able to point you towards some great pinots. about 10 years ago
