NZ has many 'best' times of the year to visit, it just depends what you are looking for, the winter has all the winter games, ski-ing, lovely snowy mountian tops etc.... but in the summer you can take advantage of the beautiful national parks and beaches...Not much help i know but it all depends what kind of holiday/adventure you are looking for. almost 11 years ago

I would agree with Sharon, there are many things to see and do, if you come to New Zealand its really two seasons, Winter and Summer, Both are great times to come and see and do things, My favourite would be summer, the beaches up North of Auckland and the dolphin swimming in the bay is amazing!!! but then again its totally up to you on what you are into! almost 11 years ago

ditto with both the answers above but sometimes its worth considering going towards the end of the season because hostels and tour operators often hike the prices up in peak season. over 10 years ago
