Go to the railwaystation which is underneath Schiphol airport. Within a short train ride you will arrive at Amsterdam Central Station. Almost in front of central station after crossing the street you will find the starting point for canal cruises. A nice way to see Amsterdam! After finishing the cruise walk to Dam square, you can choose either do a small part of Red Light District (Oude Zijdsvoorburgwal) or on the other side of Dam square visit the nine streets. I have seen that you like food, you will find some nice restaurants there. Want to know more? Have a look at: http://tourguides.viator.com/tour-guide-yvonne-kopmels-20977.aspx almost 8 years ago

Canal ride was quite boring (as I did not take a live tour guide option) - I enjoyed the Yellow Bike ride a lot more - it's about 2 hour tour on bicycle around AmsterLdam & you can get info about it in the tourist center accross the street from Central Station (it opens at 9 am) almost 8 years ago
