Am starting to trek up Everest but my insurance only goes to 5000 metres.

Could anyone recommend an insurer to cover the final leg?

    Ahem, you don't trek above 5,000m - that's called climbing and the risks are high. You might try the British Mountaineering Council as they have specialist insurance for this purpose. And anyway, there's usually not much you can do at that altitude since helicopters don't fly above 6000m max anyway. over 6 years ago
