Namib Sky Adventure Tours offer hot air ballooning over Sousesvlei (I dont know if I spelt that correctly) - sadly we didnt have enough time to do this.

The sand dunes are magnificent and probably just as spectacular from the air.

You can also try searching hot air ballooning around Swakopmund where there are quite a few adventure companies including 4WD sand duning etc. over 6 years ago

If you're keen to get a bird's eye view of Sossusvlei, a cheaper option may be a scenic flight in a light aircraft.

If you're going to Namibia you've got to try the quad biking in the Swakopmund dunes, climb to the top of the 148 metre 'Dune 45', visit Etosha National Park, spend some time with a Himba Tribe, scope out Deadvlei and its 900 year old (and still standing) dead trees, visit the Otjitolongwe Cheetah Park where you can stroke a tame(ish) cheetah.

Yes, a lot of $ but I'll likely only be in Namibia once .... We'll see!
And thanks for the Namibia tips ... All of those are on our list! (except the quad and climbing .... My travel partner has asthma and we're worried about it in the dry air).
I really want to meet the cheetahs!
Thanks :-) over 6 years ago
