Is Casablanca a safe city to live in for a single English/French speaking woman?
dress modestly (no bare shoulders or skimpy shorts) and you'll cut down on the lewd comments, but expect a pretty high degree of hassle. Generally there's nothing physical, just hissing and men trying to chat to you. Ignore them, or be firm but polite.
Don't be flashy with your valuables, and try to blend-in.
Casablanca seems to have fewer fake guides and touts than other Moroccan cities.
Of course, the usual safety tips about being aware of your surroundings apply. If you're feeling uncomfortable at any time, flag down a taxi (make sure the meter is on) and go back to your hotel. over 8 years ago
My wife often spends time - to and from work, markets, parks, etc - alone as a western (blonde) woman. She sometimes gets mild harassment, but she hasn't had anything threatening or dangerous happen. We hear stories though... Dress moderately, know your neighbourhood and keep your head on your shoulders and you'll be fine. about 7 years ago
