I'm planning a world trip and I'm very interested in the Middle East (and its surroundings), so I'd really like to visit at least one of those countries. Furthermore, I'm also considering to visit Lebanon and Israel, but I'm worried if it's safe to go to these places alone, being a woman... I've seen a few websites who advice women NOT to enter some countries without a man, so I'd like to know... Which countries are the best for my situation? And which precautions should I take? Thank you!

I don't think it would be a good idea for you to travel alone to those particular countries if you are fairly young and attractive. about 7 years ago

I wouldn't worry about Pakistan and Kazakhstan. By the time you'll get there as part of your world trip you'll be experienced enough to handle it. about 7 years ago

Other than that, for the middle east maybe consider Jordan and/or Israel. For Libanon check the current situation before departure. Turkey is a good option, too. Oman comes to my mind, but we're getting in a high budget area.

About the first post. You might get more attention being a young single woman traveling, but it will then depend on you how you will handle it. In general these places are safe. Make sure to go through some forums or guide books with more information on the subject. about 7 years ago
