About 55 million Americans take a day trip across the Mexican border every year. However I guess you've read about the shoot-outs in shopping malls and on street corners, and that's worrying you.
In the past two years there've been maybe half a dozen people wounded by cross-fire. To the best of my knowledge they were all locals. Although there was one Canadian man who was wounded in Matzalan. So hat I'm saying is your chances of being hurt in crossfire are about 1 in 110 million.
The truth is that 99.999999% of people killed in the Mexican drug wars are drug gang members, law enforcement or city officials. If you do not take part in any aspect of the drug trade (and that includes buying for persona use) you are extremely unlikely to be in danger. almost 7 years ago
