Check Lonely Planet guide as we used it to go the opposite direction by bus. We went straight from the airport (LCCT) to Melacca by bus - you can get a bus from Central to the LCCT airport and then do this but there probably isn't as many buses and you';ll have to wait a bit. There is a main bus depot in KL (hopefuly its temporary position from March'10) has been organised/moved back to permanent spot. over 9 years ago

Why do all the idiots always go, try the lonely planet guide jeepers and annoying. Mate, just look on Google, it's not difficult, get to KLSentral and you can get a bus to Malacca and they go every so often as well. Lonely Planet reviewed a city in Thailandd with 2 sentences. Me and me mates thought it was well worth a lot more than that as the food was freakin amazing ..hope u get there and its around RM30 max over 9 years ago

Lonely Planet I read wasn't relevant because renovations are going on at the main bus station.

Currently you need to go to the LRT (metro) station Bukit Jalil on the Sri Penaling line and then catch a bus to Melaka from the bus station about 100m from the metro stop. Should be looking at $14RM one way per person. My advice would be to go directly to the tent with the counters and avoid the "worms" (translation of the local term for the hawkers selling tickets).

Also ask how many stops the bus does. Otherwise a 2 hour trip can turn into a 4 hour one.

Transnational is one of the companies that have buses leaving every 30 mins (this is what they say but delays happen frequently and hour gaps are more likely) over 9 years ago

The distance between KL and melaka (melacca) is somewhere around 2hours bus trip, the bus is also very frequent, i bet evey hour have a few buses going melaka from KL, there is no need to take airplane, an express bus will be very convinient. The express bus fare would be between RM16 - RM30 (US$1 : RM3 at the moment), the bus terminal had just shifted from pudu raya to a new place called TBS (terminal bus selatan, whic translated into south city bus terminal).

In TBS u can find all buses going to almost anywhere in malaysia and even singapore. U can get some info from their website http://www.tbsbts.com.my/ from their site u can even get the departure schedule, which will make your travel easy.
