Can anyone suggest some mountains which are worth climbing in Peninsula Malaysia?
I prefer places that are not too inundated with tourists and give me a bit more freedom of movement (i.e. no guide required).

Define mountain. IMHO there are no mountains in peninsula Malaysia. You should fly over to KK and climb mount Kinabalu almost 12 years ago

In my case, if it has a good view, is not built up and takes a few hours, it'll do.
I climbed Mt Kinabalu last month and am well aware that all the best mountains are in Borneo. almost 12 years ago -
try cameron highlands. the path up to Gunung Brinchang is interesting through the jungle. Nice view on the top and on the way down the normal road you can visit Boh tea plantation.
