I'm driving from Johor bahru to cameron highlands and planning to stopover in KL for lunch. Any suggestions for restaurants (with veggie options) in city outskirts? I don't want to go deep into the city and waste any time.

While I agree with Darren with the food fusion in Kelantan but Kota Bahru is further up north east; probably another 6 hours drive away from Cameron Highland.

My suggestions, on the way via the motorway (called Lebuhraya Utara - Selatan) take an exit at E2 to Putrajaya (you will see the exit after Nilai on the border of Negeri Sembilan state and Selangor state). There's an awesome restaurant in the area of Botanical Garden in Putrajaya, with less traffic, bigger road and great scenery, Putrajaya is the cleaner side of Selangor. Or, head down to Taman Warisan Pertanian (Agriculture Park) nearby for cheaper selection. You can continue your journey from there on E6 motorway or exit at E11 and then proceed to E6.

Alternatively, if you're in a rush, you can just drive all the way on route E6 and in Petaling Jaya and Subang Jaya there are heaps of restaurants you will find it hard to choose with various range of foods. From there you can exit to E1 motorway and continue your route to Cameron Highlands.

Have a safe and enjoyable journey! over 8 years ago
