Really depends on your budget too. Tonnes of places along the waterfront ranging from $10 to $60 a night. We found a place by the Mekong River, just around the corner from the night market, for about $12. It wasn't anything fancy but we were traveling for 8 months so budget was a priority. over 8 years ago

Depending on your budget, Villa Santi is a very nice boutique hotel right in the centre of town but not noisy at all. On the main street where you can see the monks collecting food early in the morning. about 8 years ago

I stayed at the Saynamkhan River View. Very nice staff and close to everything. The restaurant right out the front door on the river is fabulous! I got the room on Agoda.com for $30/night. over 7 years ago

The Belle Rive is an awesome boutique hotel in Luang Prabang. Here are my eating tips too: http://traveleater.wordpress.com/2013/04/12/taste-travel-magazine-article-eating-high-and-low-in-magical-luang-prabang-laos/ over 7 years ago

We backpacked our way around Laos and stayed in the very acceptable Sok Dee, really friendly staff, great balconies/ courtyard, breakie brought to you every morning, organised our washing etc. Decor pretty good. I'd highly recommend. We paid $Aus30/ room night with breakie. http://www.booking.com/hotel/la/sok-dee-residence.en-gb.html?aid=318615;label=New_English_EN_ALL-GBIECAUS_5226333385-zrfE0CU6K_HWeoloJw%2APrQS46932911785%3Apl%3Ata%3Ap1%3Ap2%3Aac%3Aap1t1%3Aneg;sid=5bd19f989c7d170811c11a5f5d7c956f;dcid=4;ucfs=1;srfid=61bd412656a0e38b754f3ad854d30e00a84e49faX1;highlight_room= almost 6 years ago
