3:) lunch at the 'out of Africa'- house where Karen Blixen lived.

All the above, but include a ranchero burger and coffee at one of the Java Coffee houses - either at Junction or ABC centers, where you can also buy great gifts - Kitengela glass, Kazuri beads, Kikoys, etc etc.

And you might see more in the National Park if you do an early morning game drive. The David Sheldrick elephant orphanage is on the outskirts of the park, so you can go directly there. But Faunstleroy's right - make sure you are on time - and allow time to get lost, because it's not well signposted. almost 6 years ago

I would eat at the world famous Carnivore for dinner. But I would not recommend Karen Blixen. While it is cool to be where she was, the tour is very bad and not worth it if you have such a short time. Our guide spent the whole time pointing out what was real and what was fake. It was not worth the time or money. almost 6 years ago

Nairobi National Park (4 Hours Day Tour)
Karen Blixen & Giraffe Center (3 HoursDay Trip)
Bomas of Kenya (2 Hours Day Excursion)
Nairobi has many restaurants offering a variety of cuisine. I would urge dinner or lunch at the carnivore, which is famous for its succulent stew and barbecue dishes as an excellent complement to a holiday in Kenya don't forget to grab it! Enjoy almost 6 years ago

Nairobi has numerous options to choose from including culture, history, shopping & wildlife experiences.

If you aren't travelling to any of the Parks or reserves then a trip to the Nairobi National Park is recommended, for an opportunity to view some of Kenya's wildlife.
The park is located on the outskirts of the city so travel to it and a day trip is very feasible.
Animals you will get to see are giraffe, zebra, lion, buffalo, elephant and more.

For shopping, visit one of the Masai Markets - a gathering place for various vendors selling curios & artifacts. You can find items such as batik paintings, wooden animals, masks, fabrics, local jewelry, sisal baskets, beaded items & numerous other handmade items. Bargaining is encouraged. Note that the market takes place at different places around the city on given days.

    Visits & Excursions:
Karen Blixen Museum. The farm house gained international fame with the release of the movie ‘Out of Africa’ an Oscar winning film based on Karen’s an autobiography by the same title.
The Museum is open to the Public every day (9.30 am to 6pm). There is also a restaurant on site recommended for lunch or coffee.

While in that area (known as Karen) you can visit the Giraffe centre to view and feed Giraffes. http://giraffecenter.org/
Visit Kazuri bead factory where handmade ceramic beads of all varieties are made into jewelry - this is a women's initiative program. This is located in part of the Karen Blixen estate. http://www.kazuri.com
For more local history visit the National Museum of Kenya ( the museum isn't very big so the visit may only take an hour). Historical, Cultural and Artistic collections from
East Africa. Open daily from 09:30 – 18:00. Located close to that is the Snake Park.

Nairobi City Tour: Visit and drive through key points in the city such as : Parliament Building , KICC, City HALL, Churches and mosques and parks to get the best views of the city from on top of the hill.
Bomas of Kenya: View dances from different tribes in Kenya, see how they live, village setups and learn about the people and culture of Kenya’s tribes (located in the Karen area). over 5 years ago
