I want to go to Hokkaido from either Osaka or Tokyo, but it's more preferable if it's directly from Osaka. By Any means of train or air transportation. Most reasonable one, doesn't have to be very cheap! Thanks in advance!

Good information at www.hypermedia.com with interactive online timetables. Use "search details" on the main page to detail whether to use plane or just train.

Travelling with trains is a pleasure in Japan, nevertheless you should consider that the train ride is at least 10 hours. over 9 years ago

Take the Shinkansen (Bullet train). Even if you are only going to take this one train, it is worth buying a Japan Rail Pass (http://www.japanrailpass.net/eng/en001.html) BEFORE you arrive in the country - it'll save you heaps. over 9 years ago
