I'm looking for a good, reasonably priced place to stay in Kyoto. Any help would be much appreciated!

We stayed here in March and I'd recommend it. http://kyotobase.com/eindex.html
It's only small so you'll definitely have to book. (This is the review of them on Trip Advisor: http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g298564-d1807418-Reviews-Kyoto_Guesthouse_Roujiya-Kyoto_Kyoto_Prefecture_Kinki.html)

I haven't stayed here but we did stay at their property in Beppu, which was excellent. over 9 years agoAnswered by Original Nomad viaWorldNomads.com

I recommend utano youth hostel, near kinkakuji in the utano area. I volunteered there for some kids programs and had an amazing time. Very friendly, reasonable prices, and great area. It was renovated last year too, but haven't visited since. over 9 years ago
