Can I use my 'european' hairdryer in tokyo? I' m thinking about voltage difference between Italy an Japan.
Check the label on your hairdryer, most appliances have an in-built adaptor and can handle voltages between 100 and 240.
FYI - Japan uses 100 volt at 60 Hz, Europe uses 240 v at 50Hz.
If you had a hair dryer that didn't have an adaptor it would be okay to plug it in to a Japanese socket, but if you tried that in reverse sparks would fly.
Just check the label. Also most hotels provide hairdryers to their guests.
