    It is about 3 hours .
    bit of an odd question, define city, where are you based? how are you travelling? what do you want to do @ Mt F? If , as I assume you are, in Tokyo, it is possible but not much fun. If you want to climb it , then that takes a day in its self. Do a little more digging / Googling of the subject. Google map Fujisan eki ( a nearby rail stn) & your hotel & you'll get an idea. over 8 years ago

    I will be spending a week in Tokyo and a week in Kyoto. I want to see Fuji but not climb to the top. Which city is closest or takes me to a park where I can enjoy the view up close? over 8 years ago

    two years ago I was in kawaguchico it was a really nice place
    and the view of mont fuji was excelent over 8 years ago

    Thanks for your answer. I was actually up in Kawaguchiko last week. Enjoyed the ambience but the great mountain was completely shrouded. Ah well...next time! over 8 years ago
