Though I have only gone to Italy by myself or with my boyfriend, I think Rome has much to offer for families. From museums, to markets, to ruins...there is something for everyone. over 6 years ago

I'd add Florence, the Chianti Region (Siena, San Giminiagno, another small towns). Even
Venice should be really nice for a family trip. I wouldn't go to the South like Naples (crowd, ecc) or Amalfi Coast (maybe more a couple's destination). Enjoy Italy, sure your kids will enjoy Italian ice cream (gelatti)! over 6 years ago

Another town you may want to include in your itinerary it's 'Gubbio', which has the biggest christmas tree of the world! over 6 years ago

I would say Florence is a very interesting and fun city for any age. It is very easy to walk around and there always seems to be something to do. If you are traveling with a family, there are many Agritourism "hotels" through out the country and after going to a few, it seems like children enjoy being on a farm for a few days and helping out with the animals, something I would have loved when I was younger. Just an idea, if you are still planning your trip! over 6 years ago
