Venice to Milan runs on a direct line, so you shouldn't have any issues. Regional, InterCity, or EuroStar. EuroStar is the fast option, Intercity a bit slower, Regional will take all day. There are agents and automatic machines in the lobby of the Venezia S.L. station (main station). Problem with online tickets is the system is only designed for Italian Credit Cards, and lots of people have issues with the website. Its a great source of information about what train to take, but on the day of, or the day before, or three days before (it doesn't matter) go to the station and buy your tickets at the station. You can buy at any station, just make sure you select the origin and destination and date of the trip you want to make. trenitalia.it is the page. ENJOY!!! about 7 years ago

I am on venice currently. The train from venice to milan is approx 2.30 hours and you can pick these tickets from any station in the whole of Italy. Infact i bought my tickets from Lugano and Monte Carlo for my entire 3 weeks of journey in Italy.
Ypu have an option of picking open tickets or specific date tickets. Log on to www.trainitalia.com and punch in journey details and it will ove you schedule plus fares.
Best of luck . . almost 7 years ago
