Rome tips here http://traveleater.wordpress.com/rome-italy/, incl a few hotels (at end) but the one I stayed at (hotel doge) was only ok. I'd be happy to have your recs when you're back! October is a nice time to be in Rome, not too hot, not too crowded. almost 7 years ago

We stayed just outside of Rome for under a hundred euro we left our car and took the rail into Rome much easier as Rome is rather confusing to drive. Easy to do just go on line and check out where the trains come and go from Rome (train is very inexpensive). almost 7 years ago

I would recomend you to stay in Trastevere. The atmosphere there is excellent. The only disadvantage is that there is no metro. Aside from that and if you dont mind to walk a bit to visit the city is my favourite area to stay in Rome. http://dondealojarse.net/donde-alojarse-en-roma/ over 1 year ago
