Driving to Brindisi from where? I did a tour years back which included been driven from Rimini via Rome to Brindisi. Barr Rome, the countryside was boring beyond comparison. I became an expert in orange trees cause that's all I saw, flat, parched countryside with acres & acres of orange trees. However if you can spare time to head over to Naples, Vesuvius, Pompei, the Sorrento and Amalfi coasts that's a different matter. It would be well worth doing. As for driving itself, I don't know since I cannot drive. Can't help you there. about 9 years ago

I've done some driving in Italy.... it's pretty "normal" nothing like some southeast Asian countries or middle eastern cities for craziness.
Just get out of the fast lane on the motorways after overtaking, some of the locals have no concept of speed limits and they come up on you pretty quickly.

Drive defensively. Don't expect others to be courteous or give you the right of way. Go with the flow. about 9 years ago
