A lot depends on what you want to see, assuming you would like to do a mix of historical sites, places to not miss and scenic areas I’d recommend the following:
    Up North
Venice – well a unique place
Verona – Romeo and Juliette’s balcony to be visited
Como – in and around Lake Como is really pretty – it’s not from here up over the Border to Switzerland. Over towards Monaco is also really pretty.
Milan – a city but worth a couple of days
    Pisa – leaning tower
Florence – one of the best cities in Italy with so much art and history
Rome – so much to see in Rome – been here a couple of times and always find new things to do.
    South
Amalfi Coast - amazing coastline – my favourite part of Italy
Naples - I could take or leave this city
Capri – definitely worth a visit
Pompei – interesting place to visit
Sicily is really pretty – make sure to leave the cities. Mount Etna is on the island to visit.
I spent some time on the east coast as well as well as the west and don’t remember too much about them. Memories are from the West. almost 10 years ago
