I have been thinking of exploring Cinque Terra with my wife for a couple of years and we think we might have an opportunity early next year.
I have a few questions about the best method of seeing all the cities. The train seems to stop at a few places. It would be probably cheaper than renting a car too.
Has anyone got any advice on the best way to slowly explore?
Our budget is under €1000 and the time we want to spend there is about two weeks.
Great to hear you and your wife are planning to visit the super beautiful Cinque Terre.
To plan your trip I would suggest to take a look at wikitravel which is quite comprehensive http://wikitravel.org/en/Cinque_Terre

We went some time ago and caught the train from Rome. We stayed in one of the towns (Monterosso al Mare), and did a day walking trip by first catching a train to Riomaggiore, then walking back to Monterosso, stopping for lunch and drinks along the way.
It is very beautiful and a highlight of our Italian holiday!
