we are going to be traveling through Italy for three weeks in September and want to keep in touch with some family members back in the states, both for fun and necessity, as one of our sons is blind/deaf, in college, and needs communication frequently. We've heard that Skype is best, but would like to be accessible to him wherever we are, just in case. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Grazie mile! Ciao!

Firstly, time difference will be a problem. We either keep and online journal or iMessage although FaceTime has been used also. I will depend on your hotel wifi capability. Some hotels only have wifi in the reception area and others in Europe charge for wifi. Really irritating but what can you do?
As for your electrical products, just get an adaptor for US to Europe. That'll do it. If you've made your hotel bookings, why not email them and ask them (or if you've inky made the initial booking, email them. The answer will be the same for all hotels).
Don't worry, just go and enjoy. almost 4 years ago
