Ala Best Western is a good place. From Ferrovia take a vaporetto to Santa Maria Gigilio and as you get off it is a few meters straight down the alley. almost 5 years ago

    Have you tried http://www.airbnb.com/s/Venice ?

Some years ago we hired an apartment from another site which was great fun and far better than a hotel, but today we'd use Airbnb almost 5 years ago

There are hundreds of hotels in Venice. You basically need to decide if you want to stay in Venice or in Mestre ( which is the suburb of Venice). Good thing is that although Venice is ridiculosly expensive there are so many hotels in the city that you will be able to find something for yourself. There is a good post on this topic here http://www.traveltovenezia.com/where-to-stay-in-venice/

I would recommend that you do a very good research before you book. Wrong hotel in Venice can be very annoying. about 4 years ago

I would recommend a hotel along the front of the Lido, facing across the bay to St Mark's. They are moderately priced and away from the noise. Frequent Vaps to and from the Lido and you are only a short bus ride from the Beach on the other side of the Island. I I have stayed there many times and have never been disappointed. about 4 years ago
