    Seriously, try here: http://www.hihostels.com/dba/hostels-Florence---Villa-Camerata-031004.en.htm

This has to be one of great places to stay.

People from all over the world and the most amazing little grocers at the end of the fantastic driveway selling mouthwatering Italan tomatoes.

And yes, I have stayed. almost 8 years ago

The right answer is always 'It depends'. It depends on what you are looking for and where. I suppose you want to stay in the city centre as every tourist visiting Florence wants and, since you don't specify that, I suppose you are not looking for an expensive hotel. So i suggest you should try www.hotelcolomba.com which is in Via Cavour right few steps away from the Duomo and you can even reach it walking from santa maria Novella, the main train station. almost 8 years ago

Ok, I assume the same supposition as earlier comment and my choice is Hotel Perseo, same near historic centre and train station. You can reach your room walking few steps so you can rest at hotel even during the day, not only at evening and this is a very useful feature http://www.hotelperseo.it/ almost 8 years ago
