Travel by train or plane for 2?

Plane is about 2 hours, train closer to 13. Easyjet do 3 to 4 cheap flights a day from Fiumicino to Paris Orly from around 80 euros , also Ryanair from Ciampino to Beauvais (typically using unusual airports, but one way tickets from 20 euros! ) and air France and alitalia will fly you from Fiumicino to Charles de Gaulle several times a day too , but will probably cost a lot. Rome center to either airport should cost a maximum 8 Euro unless you take the express train and there are bus services to each which are typically even cheaper , and links from Orly or Ch de Gaulle to Paris centre are a similar price. Train from Rome to Paris costs approximately 160 euros. Hope this helps! almost 6 years ago

Flying seemed to be my best option when I was there (saved time and $$). Choosing the flight depends on flight prices. Ryanair and Easyjet are definitely going to be cheaper, but they fly to airports that are way outside of Paris. Although it'll cost you more than usual (compared to other cities) to get from Charles de Gaulle, it beats a 70 euro shuttle from the other airports. Compare ticket prices (taking the airport-to-city price into consideration) and time, and then decide! My cheapest route was Fiumicino to Charles de Gaulle. Good luck! almost 6 years ago

It is wrong to say that easyjet fly to airports way outside the city. The eJ strategy is to fly to the major airports and is positioning itself as a low cost business airline - and in this case flies from Fiumicino which is the main airport, to Orly, which is linked by Orly Val train into the Paris Metro system . It takes no longer to get from the Orly to the Centre than it does from CDG. Ryanair strategy is to fly to secondary secondary airports but from Rome centre, Ciampino is a 4 Euro bus ride from Termini station and takes about 30 mins (cheaper and closer than Fiumicino). I have no idea how to get from Beauvais to the centre and that does appear to be a lot further from the centre. almost 6 years ago

Incidentally , Orly to the centre will cost you €10.90 and the CDG to Paris trip will set you back €9.60, so not a drastic difference if you can get a decent deal on the flight. almost 6 years ago
