We will be visiting Northern Italy and are undecided to hire a car or take the train. Our next stop after Venice is Florence, Pisa, Cinque Terre then last stop Rome. One thought is to drive until Venice then catch the train from there for the remaining trip. Any advice would be extremely grateful. Regards Jodie

Taking the train is very easy and low cost in Italy. There is a high speed (alta velocità) connection between Milan and Venice as well as from Milan to Rome. With the gas prices right now, I would prefer the train. almost 8 years ago
