about 6 years ago about Italy

Hi We are traveling to Italy end of May. need recommendation on what to pack. Will it get chilly at night? We are doing all the popular ciites - Rome, Venice, Pisa, Milan. How easy is it to walk around? Any tips will really help.

Comfortable shoes, download an app which translates your language to Italian and pants or jacket with zipper or button pockets.

Bring lots of smiles and give them out generously, it will get you to places, make things easier... you will be surprised how easy to meet friendly people especially when you greet them speaking their language. about 6 years ago

Oh and don't ask for a spoon when eating pasta, that's the American way. The locals don't do that.

Eat pizza with your hands, not knife and fork. Use the bread to clean your plate, they will appreciate it. about 6 years ago

Venice and Pisa are flat. Rome has some hills but it isn't too strenuous. Milan's city center is pretty flat as well. A light jacket will be needed in the evenings. Wear supportive shoes you can walk long distances in comfortably as cobble stones can be painful after a while. Remember, you must have your shoulders/ upper arms covered and no shorts or short skirts if you want to visit churches. The tend to be quite strict about that. about 6 years ago

Pack as little as possible and buy there! Markets are great shopping fields. Comfortable shoes are a must. So is a light jacket and a jumper for cooler days/nights. And do not forget some loose pants for the tight ones won't fit for long! about 6 years ago
