Definitely agree with the Trevi Fountain suggestion! Also, I would recommend Villa Borghese.
I actually found the hop-on-hop-off bus tours to be a good option for seeing the 'top' sites.
Also I would mix in checking out some places where the locals hang out. about 9 years ago -

Normally it's a little bit cold: from 5 up to' 12 celsius degree. And sometimes rainy, In these day the weather it's beautiful. Good luck. Weather in italian is "meteo". about 9 years ago
