Italy gay friendly?! I would say yes and no... I mean you are not gonna be arrested if you are with your wife.. but if you make out in public you may get some 'what the hell are they doing' look, especially from old people... usually young people are more gay friendly... and regarding your question... I think you can visit every cathedral... there's a code about dressing, phones and cameras but they don't ask if you are straight when you walk in!! btw I don't think they would kick you out!! Just be respectful with the dress code... no shorts or too much skin exposed... but if you visit this time of the year it won't be a problem! hope this is helpful... your question wasn't that clear! ;) over 6 years ago

If you want to do a historic trip Italy is absolutly the right place! In general people won't say a word... but they will think something... maybe they won't even notice you... again it's difficult to explain because, yes we are a modern country but most of the people is nearsightedness.. but again we won't say a word! but I think that most of the european countries are like this... over 6 years ago

I'm in Verona at this time. Italy is very conservative regarding gays. The men give lots of eye contact as they stroll by with their wives pushing strollers. What a bore! Grow some balls Italy! almost 6 years ago
