Is it cheaper to take a train for two people, or just split the rental of a car to take a nice trip to Killarney from Dublin then back?

My hus and I just came back from IRE, we rented a lovely vw passat at Dublin Airport @320euros week..have had experience driving in uk and ireland so wrong side of road was no prob...even if it's new to you you get it quite quickly, roads are well marked maintained, some rather tight...but we saw all of Kerry and dingle and it rocked! Good luck! almost 9 years ago

I'm just back from Ireland and a medium rental car for 9 days worked out at 212Euro. I would recommend hiring a car as it gives you such flexibility in Kerry. The road from Dublin is Motorway to just before Adare now so the trip down will take about 3.5-4 hours almost 9 years ago
