I have been told to drive around Shannon and head up toward Galway when I go to Ireland.

Are there any specific routes I should take to see the best views. I want to only use highways when there is nothing to see.

Head to Lahinch and take the coast road up to the Cliffs of Moher and drive around the Burren. The landscape is unusual and on a good day you can see out over Galway Bay. There are a few things to do on your way areound the Burren, the caves, Burren smokehouse as well as a stop in a pub or too.... the drive will bring our back out onto the Galway road about 25 min from Galway. over 10 years ago
