I'm travelling Ireland for about 2 weeks,(Still planning my itinerary) and so far when I type in the places I would like to visit Example: Ring of kerry, I see a lot of day tours leaving from Dublin at pretty decent prices. I look into maybe staying in Killarney and traveling farther than Dublin, but despite Killarney being closer, the tour isn't actually cheaper. So far I seem to be encouraged to just stay in Dublin and take a bunch of day tours? But I don't really want to stay in one city my whole trip.. But I am traveling to Ireland without the intention of renting a car. The tours save me the expenses of bus fare. Is there a better way of doing this? I appreciate any advice anyone can offer. I will be in Ireland starting September first

I would choose a day tour of the Ring of Kerry from Killarney. Traveling to the Ring from Dublin for a day tour will put you in the highway for a significant part of the trip. That means they'll have to cut many of the sites and stops along the Ring.

Dublin is great for day tours to Wicklow, Glendalough, Newgrange, Kildare. Killarney is the gateway to the Ring of Kerry. Galway is great for Connemara and Clare/Cliffs of Moher.
