I was wondering how available help would be while driving to our different destinations if we would need assistance. (2 females traveling) about 8 years ago

Hi Kadey, the police in Ireland are called the Garda Siochana (or Gardai for short..pronounced Gar-dee) They drive white Ford Focus cars with an illuminous stripe, a blue light on the roof and Garda written all over the car - this link will take you to a photo: http://www.police-car-photos.com/picture/number1480.asp Ireland is very small and when you're driving through the countryside you're never far from a town or village or shop or pub and houses so you'll be fine driving through the countryside. To call the Gardai from your mobile phone just call 112 and emergency services from a normal phone is 999. Hope this helps! about 8 years ago
