i think a few places have provide special parking lot for bicycles, like in Plaza Indonesia (near the entrance just across the Bundaran HI if i'm not mistaken) and Grand Indonesia (not so sure about this though) almost 7 years ago

If you happen to be visiting Mal Kelapa Gading in Jakarta Utara (North Jakarta), the safest place is the Koramil (mixed police-military) outpost across the road at the north end of the mall. It's an area where mopeds commonly park and I've gotten the affable watchers used to looking after my bicycle there. You can even park there in the evening up to say 11 p.m. almost 6 years ago

As general advice for parking bicycles in Jakarta, seek out the motorcycle parking area that looks most secure. Look for one that's walled off and monitored by guards. Ask where the bicycles ("sepeda kaki" in Bahasa Indonesia) are segregated and then chain your bike to something fixed. Have a least two decently reliable bike locks. Strip off accessories like handle bar lights and the travel computer. Don't leave your helmet either. Better safe than sorry. almost 6 years ago
