Just wondering cause I don't like long walks & I don't want to bite off more than I can chew or go to all the expense of getting to Komodo Island for nothing? Would be grateful for your advice, thanks.

No, just a short walk. Can't say I'd recommend it though. over 7 years ago

Well, out of 13,000 odd islands, most of which have interesting people and cultures to explore, the best Komodo can offer is a goat being thrown and ripped to pieces by a large lizard for the sole gratification of a few tourist.

They don't do that still do they, I presume the goat was dead before they do it. I thought it would be worth seeing the lizards themselves as long as I can walk quick enough should one give chase. Believe the're fast critters when they decide to attack. over 7 years ago

Go to sumbawa and go to the komodo island. They have live in onboard for 7 days where they go and see the komodos also. Or staright to the komodo island over 7 years ago

I've been to Komodo twice in the past few years. They no longer feed goats to the dragons, though I understand that some of the older habituated dragons are still fed. You may run into a dragon on the dock. They are wandering around the visitor's area. There are nice hikes on the island but you don't have to walk far at all to see several. about 7 years ago
