Is it safe to travel to Bali in view of recent natural disasters in Java?

Yes, they've had no impact on Bali.
The volcano, Mt Merapi, is 550 kms west of Bali. The ash cloud from the eruption extends 200 kilometres further west from the volcano... in the opposite direction of Bali.
The earthquake (and tsunami) occurred on islands west of Sumatra, more than 1500 kms from Bali.
However, a bigger question to answer is this: is it safe to travel to Bali in light of that awful Julia Roberts movie? Just kidding. about 10 years ago -
