is the 2 hrs ascend difficult for newbie trekker? (one of my friend never practice trekking or hiking but she want to join me wanted to know if this suitable for her).
Notice some blog stated they start the trek at 1am to view blue flame some start at 4am for a sunrise, is it possible to view both at the same trek?

Thinking of visiting the 7 wonders temple in Yogja also, it seem from Yogja to Mt Bromo will take 10-11 hours drive, any places that we can stopby in the middle for sightseeing instead of full 10 hours drive, some say can go with train to Malang (wonder which option will give more highlight)

    Hi,
Ijen ascent is steep but doable. Worse case you will take your time. Going down the crater is also feasible if you have a decent condition (and if the weather is OK and you don't get to much sulfur).

You can see both view flames and sunrise but you will have to wait and it's pretty cold up there. almost 4 years ago

    Hi there,

If you want to save time then I think it's best to take train from Yogya to Malang, but you can't stop by in the middle of the trip (of course, duh! :) over 3 years ago
