I went to the Judy o'shea orphanage in Bali. I brought along clothes and books/toys that were given to me by friends and also made a small donation on the day. You do have to inform them and make an appointment. I was able to have a tour of the orphanage and meet some of the children. Be prepared to be shocked as I found it quite upsetting as when they take you through the orphanage they introduce you to the sick and bed ridden children. They also show pictures of past children that have lived at the orphanage.
Definitely a visit to remember and a rewarding experience too. over 10 years ago
