We are looking for somewhere to stay for 10 days at the end of the year. Been to Bali many times and our kids love it, but looking for somewhere in the far north-east.

Have you considered Amed? It’s a bit quiet for the kids, but relaxing with some nice snorkel and dive spots. I’ve only been once a few years ago, but friends tell me it hasn’t changed all that much. Still quiet, relaxing and worth another visit.

I stayed in Pemuteran this year with my 10yr old. Its north west towards Java, and is absolutely stunning. There is a turtle sanctuary run by Reef Seen, who also arrange snorkelling day trips, dive trips etc. Pemuteran is a small town at the base of the National Park, its tiny with only a hand full of restaurants and cafes- we found Tirta Suri restaurant for meals most nights (wow), as well as Bali Café who served the best coffee that side of the island. II’ll mention here that I am a coffee snob, so this is a great recommendation!)

It truly is a beautiful spot - my son really loved watching the turtle hatchlings and snorkelling with a pod of 80+ dolphins!

I am from the UK but live in Amed. I think it would be a perfect destinations for you. Why not contact me via my facebook page https://www.facebook.com/DillonsBungalows?ref=hl don't worry no hard sell we're not even open yet, still building, but if I can help you with anything at all I will be very happy to do so.
In Amed you can experience the traditional Balinese culture much more than in other places, it is very relaxing with great snorkeling and diving like the other post says.
Hope to see you at the end of the year ;) over 8 years ago
